Hi Tara! The question is about my little daughter and nutrition. She just turned 4 years old, and her first foods were egg yolk, raw cream, raw cheeses, livers, meats, and fish eggs. She ate mostly only these things until she was about 2 when we introduced more vegetables and sourdough bread. She was fine with all of these foods until she got sick with what we assume was c****. It was very mild, no big deal but right after that she started snoring, and reacting to dairy, eggs, and gluten. She started getting little rashes around her mouth and heavy congestion and snoring. So I thought okay, I'll cut these things out and focus on meats while she's recovering from the inflammation. Then about 2 months later I tried to reintroduce and the same reaction happened. I was pretty devastated as you can imagine. We tried another time a few months later and same thing. It has now been about 1 year and it seems every time we reintroduce these foods we get a congestion reaction, but I am also so devastated as these foods were a main staple in her diet, specifically the dairy and eggs, she ate them everyday without fail. We now focus on pate's, ghee (which she can handle), meat, fish eggs, and some heavily cooked vegetables in ghee or lard and starches like sweet potato and squash and avocados (we live in California where they are in season almost all year round), but I just wanted to ask you if you had any thoughts on this, and also can I possibly get her proper nutrition if she indeed is now "allergic" to these foods. I am pretty sad about it all, and hope there's some change that can happen. I also wanted to mention that she is unvaccinated and we live in a rural area with fresh spring water and lots of sunshine and clean air. She wears natural fabrics and we try to do all the things like sleep on wool mattresses and avoid anything toxic including cleaning products or anything like that. The only toxic thing in our lives as I see it is a new car, as we have had a series of old cars that kept breaking down and finally gave in to a new car.
I want to say that I am totally obsessed with your Substack and am so grateful that you take the time (I imagine an enormous amount of time) to bring your thoughts, ideas, and wisdom to us. It is not only a balm for the soul to feel recognized and kinship but also gain new wisdom through your writing. Thank you so much!
