Your poem was beautiful, Erin. Thank you for sharing that with all of us. I am filled with such joy that you were able to find a way to get on the land and be free of ties to debt and the system. Watching the people we love decline, especially when we know of ways they could help themselves but don't, can be so painful and frustrating. I think our sick care system teaches and enforces a sacrifice of self responsibility in return for the illusion of big daddy taking care of you. I see this in my extended family, too. It's hard to witness, but we cannot do anyone's work for them. We are all on our own journey here, how lucky and blessed your mother is to have your love. I'm sending mine to you.

Beautiful poem Erin. And thank you for sharing! We are in Saskatoon and have a strong community of like minded family and friends in the city here and in areas outside of the city. We have been connected with a lot of our farm friends which has been such a blessing during this time. I wonder if we can connect in some way for us Sask folks?
Hey Liz, that is awesome to hear you have lots of like minded folks around you. We would definitely be interested in connecting with more SK people. We are pretty far from Saskatoon (4+ hours) but open to ways of connecting somehow!
Erin - beautifully written! I know how much time a farm consumes (as we're also farming) so I'm even more impressed that you made some time to create something so beautiful and lasting.
Beautiful Erin. We are in SK too and on the same journey although still a bit too close to Regina for comfort. My husband is still working in the system.
Thank you Jenelle :) We are still very much apart of the system, but working hard to remove our dependency on it. A big factor has been raising, hunting and trading for our own food as well as being debt free, heating our home with wood etc. However, we do worry about these QR codes being tied to our ability to bank and participate in commerce. Haven't quite found a way around that yet, other than investing some money in crypto. I've found that by focusing our energy on the aspects of our lives we can control, it works wonders in coping with the aspects we can't. Glad to hear from another person in Saskatchewan who follows Tara also! She is so full of wisdom.

Thank you so much Tara. Feeling hopeful today because of the strong men and women fighting for our freedom! Go truckers!
