Who else waits to read Tara’s words until they’re bundled up on the porch with a warm cup of coffee? I savor these words. And for me they are best enjoyed when everything else is tuned out so that I can bath myself in them. Be right back, need to wipe my chin.

You're always so generous in your praise. Thank you for always fluffing my feathers :) You're so kind.

This was how I wanted to start my day. Thank you for time around the fire and for fluffing the pillows.

I too found you on Instagram and have since left it. This space is so treasured. Thank you.

What you mentioned about being humbled and finding that the moments of beauty, gratitude, awe are weightier because of pain or suffering is something I sincerely relate to. Suffice to say I have a condition that makes life tricky if I don't take medication - at one point I was horizontal screaming in pain for a few months - but when everyone around me was telling me how they hoped and prayed this would just go away, I was saying no. I knew I needed to change in certain ways that I could only change in through brokenness, learn through it, and surrender in a deeper way. And boy has it been a journey since 2018 when it started. And small moments of goodness are now the sweetest breaths of wonder. And pain when it happens echoes reminders that all here is merely temporary.

I love your awareness of that - temporary - makes me think of a passage I love that says we are merely pilgrims passing through - it helps me consider being fully present whenever possible - soak in this life.

Have a beautiful weekend Tara.

Beautiful reflections, Yvette. Thank you so much for sharing them. I love the imagery of being a pilgrim, just passing through. I will remember that.

"Humility like darkness reveals the heavenly lights. The shadows of poverty and meanness gather around us, "and lo! creation widens to our view." ... Moreover, if you are restricted in your range by poverty, if you cannot buy books or newspapers, for instance, you are but confined to the most significant and vital experiences; you are compelled to deal with the material which yields the most sugar and the most starch. It is life near the bone where it is sweetest. You are defended from being a trifler. No man loses ever on a lower level by magnanimity on a higher. Superfluous wealth can buy superfluities only. Money is not required to buy one necessary of the soul." -Henry David Thoreau

I loved this talk so much, thank you.

oh tara, thank you always for sharing your beautiful perspectives & knowledge with us ❣️ i’m only partway through but oh, how your words on really feeling out the big feelings, the hard ones, the challenging ones, are soothing my soul right now. with all that’s going on lately, there are many of those thought-scenarios playing out in my head, and i don’t always feel my...hmm, motivational worry / thoughtful evaluation of potential scenarios is seen in positive light. the reminder that this is a way we train ourselves to handle these hard feelings before they come up ... whew. i needed that. thank you 😌 excited to continue to listen, and for coming shares on so many things i would just be so honored to hear more from you on ☺️ and yes, the feeling of gathering that you embody, and the contentment of listening to your lovely voice while i sipped coffee by candlelight as much of the house slept this morning, and while i prepare my family nourishing foods, is a gift i am grateful for ✨

Thank you for allowing me into your home and heart. I am honoured to take up a little time and space in your world. That is no small thing and I recognise it as an incredible gift. That I might share anything that makes anyone feel a little more heard or understood makes me feel so good. It's how communicating with you makes me feel, too. So, it goes around and around and builds and creates. That's something.

Thanks so much, Tara! And yes, you did say it right. 😆 We are currently doing a blend of elevated hutches for our breeding rabbits and mobile tractors for the grow outs, but I'm always on the lookout for ways we can improve.

I forgot to mention, as I knew I would without writing things down first, that we are planning a little experiment for next spring. It involves an area we call "piggy island" that is a fenced piece of land with a bit of a moat around it from the shaping of water runoff. We are going to line the bottom of the fence with hardware cloth and see what may come to be with "rabbit island". I will update.

I'd also like to add that I am eager to listen/read on the topics you mentioned, especially limiting screens and healthy homes. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to listen to your thoughts today. I had my own hot drink and busy knitting needles while I listened. 💜
