Hello, my fine feathered friends,
At this time last year, I was deeply engrossed in writing my book. I had promised the Canada Geese that upon their return, I would have completed the book I was working on. I did that. The geese approved. I sent off my manuscript to the publisher I was hoping to work with. They approved. The book was to see the light of day.
Only, there’s a couple of things to do before that happens. I’m in the book editing mode now. Things need to be moved and made sense of, rewritten and better flushed out. My lovely editor sends me her ideas and corrections, I look at the pages of markups and try not to crumble before setting myself to the task at hand.
It’s a time sensitive matter that requires my eyes on a screen more than is good for me. I’m breaking it up with my walks and workouts and even hanging out with my cows and barn cats when I need a dose of the tangible, but there is very little reserve in my brain to write new pieces here. Because of that, I’ve decided to take a few weeks off while this stage of breathing life into my book unfolds.
When I return, all will be done and there will be this real paper and ink creation birthed into the world. I still can’t really wrap my mind around that part.
I’m going to pause paid subscriptions until I return. If you’re a monthly/paid/founding member subscriber you will still have access to the archives during this time. Billing will stop today and will start up again when I return. Hopefully there’s a few gems in the archives that you haven’t had the chance to read or maybe there’s even a few recent ones you need to get caught up on. I’ve also checked in with Substack and they’ve assured me that paid members will continue to have access to the chat while I’m on hiatus.
Until we meet again in a few weeks, I bid you Godspeed, good health, and mountains of love.
Tara❤️
Thank you for setting the example of a woman who can achieve great things on her own terms. I admire that about you!
Godspeed! I’m excited to own a book written by Tara of Slowdown Farmstead!
