The video above may be one of the most wondrous achievements in my life. That the barn swallows, so rare and precious, come to our little farm to have their families and then converge over a simple little pond we dug to play and feast seems a gift too generous to witness without tears and hallelujahs. I’ve never seen so many of these talented, acrobatic birds in one place. What a joy, what a joy, what a joyous joy of joys!

I thought I might use this Saturday post to share with you a few things that have been very meaningful/interesting/entertaining to me over the last few weeks.

First off was this podcast with

Jake Marquez and Maren Morgan
of Death in the Garden. What a duo these two are. They speak so beautifully and with such genuine passion and humility. I am so moved by what they’re doing to advance the conversation around death and why our lives depend on it. For real. The very richness of our lives is in concert with our acceptance and connection to death. I’ve said it much. They say it better.

In the podcast I link above, Maren and Jake speak of the Luddites. I’ve long supposed I may have come from that posse. I now, after hearing more about them, could only hope I did. I’ve since begun a deeper dive into understanding who the Luddites actually were and what we may have to learn from them.

All of Jake and Maren’s work is brilliant. I highly recommend their Substack and their podcasts. Over the winter, Troy and I would often cuddle up on the sofa or in front of a fire and listen to a podcast or audio book. Another podcast they did, “The Tales that Matter” was another favourite of ours. There’s so many great conversations and stories they’ve shared that it’s hard to narrow it down to a few. Go listen to them. They deserve a large audience for what they’re contributing to the world.

We opened the family restaurant doors twice this week. Here was Troy’s selection for father’s day: chicken and lamb slouvaki with mountains of raw milk tzatziki, tallow fried chips, and a Greek salad.
For dessert he requested a banana split. I made three types of raw cream ice cream. One was chocolate with a chocolate sauce. The others were strawberry (with a ribbon of preserved strawberry butter) topped with fresh, macerated garden strawberries, and a vanilla with organic pineapple and toasted coconut brittle (just toasted coconut with organic brown rice syrup stirred in when hot). And, of course, there was the necessary banana.

The video (you can also listen to it as a podcast download), “The Future of Food” is a phenomenal primer on the state of our food system and, more importantly, where it’s headed. A great one to listen to if you’re not quite sure what’s going on and a great one to listen to for your oblivious friends or family that do actually want to better understand the precariousness of where our food supply is and where the globalists are trying to steer it. There is a mad push to remove the most nutrient foods on our planet from the food system. We are already a poorly nourished species with unprecedented levels of disease, mental health issues, and disconnection running rampant through our communities. Now, what happens when they have us all on kibble? It’s not far off. And there are things we can do now to prepare. Not out of fear, but out of love and for the joy of doing good, meaningful work now. Caring for ourselves and our families doesn’t mean we look as far as a day away. It means we educate ourselves on what’s behind the curtain and we take steps to secure our futures, as best we can, as well.

Freeze dried egg whites, ground beef, and yellow rose sugar. I soaked the yellow roses in sugar for a few days then freeze dried them and then ground it up. It’s absolutely saturated with flavour and heavenly.

Speaking of globalists, looks like they’re at it again with jacked up PCR testing and viruses that will kill us all. It’s surreal to see that they’re trying out the same play, this time with bird flu. I’ve been telling anyone that will listen that this bird flu biz was going to be their next effort at plandemic mania. For years our local feed stores record your name when you buy chicken feed.
